Mount Airy's Shop Small 2020 starts Nov. 1! Grand Prize worth $5,000!

Mount Airy, MD . October 28, 2020 | The Mount Airy Main Street Association is pleased to pass on the following on behalf of the Town of Mount Airy, Greater Mount Airy, Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Mount Airy businesses!

 

Mount Airy's $hop $mall Contest has expanded on the Small Business Saturday for CASH prizes just in time for the holiday season!  One submitted receipt will be drawn and the lucky shopper will win $4,500 in CASH and $500 in local gift certificates!  New this year and in an effort to directly support our local businesses, the small business on the lucky shopper’s receipt will also win a cash prize of $500. The $hop $mall contest allows Mount Airy shoppers to spend early, often and safely during a five-week period!  Come help support our local small business community!

Details of the Contest:

  1. Shop (online, call-in or in person).  Make a purchase of $25 or more at a Mount Airy small business from November 1, 2020 through December 5, 2020 and Save Your Receipt.

  2. Upload.  Upload your receipt to our online submission form at mountairymd.gov or drop in Town Hall drop box by December 8th at 4:30 PM.

  3. Win.  A check for $4,500 plus $500 worth of gift cards. The prize presentation will be the week of December 14, 2020 (exact day and time to be arranged with winner). Cash prize sponsored by The Town of Mount Airy and Gift Card package sponsored by the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce (GMACC). Small Business prize of $500 will also be presented at the same time.

All Mount Airy businesses are asked to help spread the word!  Printed marketing materials will be available for pickup starting on October 28th at Town Hall.  Business are encouraged to post the flyers, pass out the shopping bag stuffers and help place yard signs.  The Town will also have a social media campaign in effect that businesses may join by sharing digital ads on their social media pages.

Mayor Pat Rockinberg shares, "We ask that this holiday season and throughout the year that you remember the over 300 Mount Airy small businesses that support you and your community.  Come enjoy the experience that Amazon can’t provide."

Additional Information for participating $hop $mall Mount Airy businesses Attached is signature image which the Town of Mount Airy would encourage you to use as well.  To update that:

  • save the attached image and create a new email.

  • click on Signature and choose Signatures from the drop down.

  • select New and enter a name for this signature and OK.

  • click on the small image icon and select the image you saved from your files

  • You may now want to add your name and title, etc. similar to what I did below

  • If you would like to have it saved as your default signature (you can change after the contest is over) you can save the signature and then go back in again and select to save as your default signature
