DEJA VU |
Joanne Sapp, opened Deja Vu Boutique in 2003, in Historic Downtown Mount Airy, Maryland. Her hopes were to bring retail shopping to the town. At the time, Ames department store was the only other store in Mount Airy that carried clothing.
During the first two years, Deja Vu sold skateboards and surf wear, such as Billabong, Hurley, Roxy, Element, Miss Me Jeans and Ripcurl. In 2005, they sold the skateboard portion of the store and added Prom and Homecoming gowns, with Alyce Designs and MacDuggal. By adding the formal wear, Deja Vu was able to service a wider variety of cliental. They have expanded to all types of special events including Bat Mitzvah, Bridesmaids, Destination Bridal, Mothers of the Bride/Groom, Military Balls, Pageants, and Quinceanera. The store now carries various designers including Faviana, Jovani, Ragazza, Sherri Hill, Terani and Tarik Ediz.
This Main Street Gem has become an INTERNATIONAL SENSATION, attracting Pageant winners from all over the world. Among them are Miss Maryland, Miss Universe Iceland, Miss Queen Beauty Iceland and Miss Universe!Â
Deja Vu is also extremely generous. The store donates to various organizations throughout the year, some of which include, House of Ruth, West Virginia Flood Relief Victims, III B’s Breast Cancer Foundation, Children's Miracle Network, Animal Welfare League, and local high schools.Â
Thank you Deja Vu for making Mount Airy your home. You are truly a Mount Airy GEM and our Mount Airy Main Street Merchant of the Month.
