Wine & Cheese on Main Street!

SAVE THE DATE for a Mount Airy Main Street event promoting Fresh & Local - Wine & Cheese on Main Street - to  be held in Downtown Mount Airy, Thursday, August 19 . 6-8PM. 

Featuring the Best of Local, from Wines, Cheeses and farm-fresh products to  all that our local Downtown Shops and Restaurants have to offer and More!

The free ticketed wine and cheese tasting event will feature the best of local, from wines, cheeses and farm-fresh products to all that our local Downtown Mount Airy shops and restaurants have to offer and more!

Featured are six local wineries and our local downtown distillery sampling and selling their bottled wines and spirits!

Laurienzo’s Brick Oven Café will sample Black Ankle wines while Superfoods Café & Market’s new wine bar, Vino on Main, will sample varietals from Elk Run Wines, Loew’s Vineyards and Old Westminster Winery!    Linganore Winecellars, The Urban Winery of Silver Spring and MISCellaneous Distillery will be set up along Main Street to also sample and sell their bottled products.

Local creameries will also be on site:  Whispering Breeze Farm’s cow cheeses, Shepherd’s Manor Creamery’s Sheep Cheese, and the Cherry Glen’s Goat Cheese. They pair well with the local wines! Also featured will be locally baked breads and fruits from the farmers’ market.

An afternoon grilled cheese cookoff will be held among the downtown restaurants using select local cheeses and ingredients. The Best Grill Cheese Sandwich will be awarded at the evening event. Downtown Shops and Restaurants will have specials and events coinciding with this event.

Local folk artist, Steven Gellman, will be performing originals from his nine albums including his newest album, Cold Harbor.
