The Mount Airy Main Street Association’s Organization Committee is primarily responsible for annual fundraising activities, membership building, and the development of a strong volunteer network on behalf of the Mount Airy Main Street program.

As part of the Four Point Approach to Main Street revitalization, the Organization Committee is responsible for the following:

• Enhance community relations.
• Encourage volunteer support.
• Seek a variety of methods and sources of funding.

Organization is the foundation of the entire Main Street program. A strong organizational base with committed funding and dedicated volunteers will enable us to enact an effective revitalization program. By partnering with the various and diverse groups in the community to reach consensus on important issues while creating a shared vision for Downtown Mount Airy, the program will be consistently strong.

Organization means making sure everyone is working toward the same goals. This committee is responsible for attracting people and money to the organization. It is the personnel department of the program, keeping the volunteers productive and happy, while creatively building a solid financial foundation.

MAMSA’s Organization Committee is extremely energetic, organized, creative, open to new ideas while reviewing old ideas, and has fun in the process.

The Organization Committee has been quite busy this past year. The following are just a few examples of our accomplishments:

• securing sponsor for MAMSA booth at the May Festival
• providing volunteers for various special events Downtown (Main Street Christmas, Fall festival, merchant strolls)
• organizing fundraising activities (basket raffle, apple butter sale, golf/baseball raffle)

We have many events planned for the next year and will need fresh ideas and help.
